We are on site and the build begins

We had a few days in Phnom Penn to rest up from the travels and blow off some steam. The team visited a few sites to understand why we are here. We visited S-21 that was a high school but during Khmer Rouge got turned into a place where people were beaten and tortured. Over 17,000 were thanking from there to one of 400 killing fields. Close to 2 million people were killed during 1975-79. It is this reason that there is a need for schools and education.
The team arrived on site today and worked very hard in the hot sun to get the project on schedule. I have to admit that after 8 months of raising funds and talking about this project when I stepped out of the van with 27 friends, family and Rotarians I got a little emotional as I walked up to the hole where the foundation was about to go.  We moved rocks and mixed cement all by hand. Special thanks today to the Pilon clan who's kids worked non stop without stoping for a break today.
